Baby Care part 1

Post  sammyantha on Tue Apr 19, 2011 11:54 am

I thought this might be helpful for you mums out there that have a baby Wink jen & mel. I was reading through my bicarbonate of soda book and it had a section in there for baby care so thought i would post what the book has in it for that topic Very Happy

Because bicarbonate of soda is not harmful to children and babies, it is the perfect way to keep the nursery clean & fresh smelling. Bicarbonate of soda can be used for many baby related tasks. It can be used to clean baby and his or hers toys, as well as to eliminate those sometimes overpowering baby smells around the home. You can use bicarbonate of soda with confidence around your baby as it contains nothing that can irritate the skin or cause any allergic reactions.

Baby Bath
Adding 1 cup of bicarb of soda to your baby's bath can help keep their skin wonderfully soft. You can use it instead of a bubble bath and rest easy that it won't irritate your baby's skin.

Cleaning Bath Toys
Baby's bath toys can get a build up of limescale. To remove this, sprinkle some bicarb on to a damp cloth and scrub clean. The bicard also eliminates any lingering smells on the toys. For really stubborn limescale on the toys you can make a paste of bicarb and water and scrub with an old toothbrush.

Put a couple of tablespoons of bicarb in baby's bottles and fill them with water. Leave them overnight to soad and the sour smell will disappear. If your baby's bottles can be put in the dishwasher, add some bicarb to the powder or tablet area. This will ensure that the dishwasher is clean enough to wash your baby's bottles.
